ETC recognizes that a successful test preparation program is a key component of the broader continuing education project.

 

Beginning in 1997, Steven Shotts and Dr. Stephen Harris, co-founders of ETC, began offering graduate-level test preparation classes through The Florida State University Center for Professional Development. ETC incorporated in 1999, and currently provides test preparation classes through the continuing education departments at Florida State University, The University of North Carolina – Charlotte, The University of South Carolina, The University of Georgia, Auburn University, The University of Kansas, Texas Christian University, Louisiana State University, University of Houston, Southern Methodist University, University of West Florida, University of Wisconsin La Crosse, Rutgers University, and Rollins College. Additionally, ETC provides contract classes for not-for-profit organizations in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

 


 

Our Team

 

Steven Shotts, Director of Instruction

Steven Shotts is the co-founder of Educational Testing Consultants and currently serves as the Director of Instruction. As Director of Instruction, Steven is responsible for instructor recruitment, selection, and training at Educational Testing Consultants. Steven is an experienced test preparation instructor, curriculum designer, and instructor trainer. He has a degree in Pure Mathematics, and has been teaching test preparation classes since 1993. In his capacity as Director of Instruction for ETC, he has helped thousands of students prepare for standardized tests. In addition to his instructional experience Steven Shotts is co-author of ETC’s test preparation workbooks for GRE, GMAT, LSAT, SAT, and ACT preparation, and has experience writing test items used in state certification exams.

 

Dr. Stephen Harris, Director of Instructional Design

Dr. Stephen Harris is an experienced test preparation instructor and curriculum designer. As Director of Instructional Design for Educational Testing Consultants, Dr. Harris has led the curriculum design team in developing the courses for the GMAT, GRE, LSAT, SAT, ACT, and FCAT exams. In addition, Dr. Harris has developed and taught MCAT preparation courses for the Florida State University School of Medicine. Prior to co-founding Educational Testing Consultants, Dr. Harris was a test item writer for the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and FCAT exams. Dr. Harris holds a PhD. in Philosophy from Florida State University.

 

Eric McGee, Director of Business Operations

As Director of Business Operations, Eric manages program launch projects and ongoing program operations in coordination with university staff. His role at ETC includes: Needs assessments, strategic planning, program marketing, student recruitment, and program administrative support. He holds a Bachelor degree in Marketing from Western Michigan University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. Eric has over ten years of related experience, including over four years in higher continuing education at the University of South Carolina, where he served as a program manager and Director of Professional and Continuing Education.
